Our Mission

At Gateway Hunger Relief Center, we are dedicated to eliminating hunger in our community one person at a time. As a ministry extension of Gateway Church in Richmond, IN, we provide essential food assistance to over 2,700 families each month and continue to expand our reach.

Our Mission as an Organization:

• Combat Food Insecurity – Reduce hunger by ensuring individuals and families have access to nutritious food.

• Provide Essential Support – Offer food and basic necessities to meet the urgent needs of those struggling with food insecurity.

• Empower Through Assistance – Encourage self-sufficiency by connecting clients with additional resources, self-help initiatives, and community support programs.

• Promote Awareness & Solutions – Raise awareness about hunger and poverty while working with partners to create long-term solutions for food relief.

Our mission goes beyond providing food—we aim to restore hope, dignity, and stability to those in need. Whether through emergency food distributions, senior and children’s food programs, or partnerships with local organizations, we are committed to making a lasting impact.

We welcome volunteers, donations, and community partnerships to help us continue our work. Together, we can make a difference!

A great place. Very kind and caring volunteers to look out for you. They make sure you have enough food. I have never seen anyone not smiling and being happy that they are there to help you. Took everything I had to hold back my tears. First time I've ever used a food pantry & I was overwhelmed. Gateway volunteers are absolutely the best. All were so kind, smiling & unbelievably helpful. Recieved more food there then I normally buy in a month! Wonderful people doing Gods work all the while enjoying themselves. I'm so touched & thankful.
